"Tumoja... Come with me, I must speak with you." Said Simba, accompaning Kovu and his son, Tumoja.
"Yes, grandpa?" He asked, his curious eyes facing Simba's, quickly running through Kovu's on the way to his. "Is anything wrong?"
"You know you are the next-in-line for the throne, and you will have a thousand duties to fill everyday..." Started the golden, red maned lion.
"What we're trying to tell you, is that you need to be more out-going and less timid." Replied Kovu, with a worried tone in his voice, fearing his son's reply.
"Tumoja, we fear you're not ready yet." Simba was direct, avoiding the tangling that conversation was going to cause. He sighed, before he could say anything else. "It's not how a future king should behave, and if you don't fix those issues, we'll have to take a providence."
"Wait... You think I'm not ready?" His eyes were filled with sadness, disappointment and anger. "But grandma, dad...! Was all that trainment since I was a cub in vain? All the explanations I had to give Ari were lies? And what's worse, you think I'm not ready because you think I'm shy?!" He had raised his voice, and behind the rocks he could see his mother's eyes watching them. "That's very disappointing, dad. That's not what you told me yesterday. Shall we throw our conversation away, too?" He growled, sitting down. His sad eyes faced the rough ground under his heavy paws.
"Son, that's not what I meant. You can't be forever treated like a prince, and what you show to the others everyday is exactly that!" Kovu growled back, mad at his reply. "That you'll never be more than a prince."
Tumoja looked at his father. He had nothing else to say, that stupid conversation would take them nowhere. He simply stood up and turned his back on the king, running to wherever it was, just anywhere far from the king's rock.
